I never thought something as simple as cutting my baby’s nails would become such a stressful part of my life, but it didand that’s why I’m sharing this. From the first week after my baby was born, I was constantly anxious about hurting those tiny fingers. Every time I picked up a nail clipper, my hands would shake. I tried doing it while my baby slept, but even the slightest movement would make my heart race. Once, I accidentally nicked the skin, and the crying that followed broke me. I felt like I was failing at something so basic as a parent.
